Kurzbeschreibung

Durch die Pflege ihrer demenzkranken Mutter ist Ulrike Strätling zum Schreiben gekommen. Ihre Vorlese- und Rategeschichten unterhalten nicht nur, sondern sie wecken auch Erinnerungen. Daher drehen sich alle Geschichten um Dinge und Begriffe aus dem alltäglichen Leben. In einfachen Sätzen sind Uhrzeiten, Jahreszeiten, Farben, Wochentage und vieles mehr in ein lustiges Erlebnis gepackt. Manchmal gibt es auch etwas zum Raten, zum Mitmachen oder zum Ergänzen. Die Geschichten sind kurz gehalten, damit der Kranke nicht überfordert wird. Die Autorin erlebt viele positive Reaktionen beim Vorlesen ihrer Geschichten. Desorientierte Menschen hören plötzlich lebhaft zu, die Augen strahlen. Anschließend wird oft aus dem eigenen Leben erzählt.
